 In line with TOTAL interest to long-term development of
Yemen’s human resources, Total E&P Yemen is pleased to announce its
international scholarship programme towards Bachelor and Master’s Degrees.
Yemeni undergraduates are invited to apply for five scholarships towards a
Bachelor of Science in Britain in:
1. Petroleum Engineering
2. Chemical Engineering
3. Energy & Environment Engineering
4. Earth Sciences
Yemeni graduates are invited to apply for five scholarships towards Master’s
Degree in France in:
1. Master’s of Law
2. Master’s of Subterranean Reservoirs of Energy: Hydrodynamics, Geology,
Modeling
3. Master’s of Business Administration
4. Master’s of Public Affairs
Total E&P Yemen will receive applications for the scholarships starting
Saturday, 24 October until 12 December 2009.
Mr. Martin Deffontaines, the General Manager of Total E&P Yemen, stated that
“TOTAL will send abroad ten new Yemeni scholars who will seek and acquire
knowledge in a variety of fields that include technical expertise needed by the
petroleum industry in Yemen, in legal expertise, and in public administration.
We have decided on these fields in order to assist in developing Yemeni experts
who can reliably and efficiently give back to their country.”
TOTAL in Yemen:
Present in Yemen for more than 20 years, TOTAL is the operator of Block 10, East
Shabwa and holds several other participations in oil exploration and production
blocks. Since 1997, the Group has been producing from Block 10 and celebrated
March last year the milestone of 100 million barrels production. TOTAL is also
the technical leader of the largest-ever Yemen LNG project with a participation
of 39.6%.
