 The Vice President of Yemen, Mr. Abdo Rabo Mansour Hadi, paid a visit on Monday, 8 March 2010, to Block 10 where he and accompanying senior delegation had a chance to view the progress and the final touches on PEC Power Plant.
Total E&P Yemen has set up, at an early stage of this project, the Gas Treatment Unit that is readily supplying the PEC Plant with processed gas to generate power for Wadi Hadramout region.
During the visit, the Vice President headed the delegation to TEP Yemen’s Administration Camp and held a meeting with the present of the Site Management. The Vice President described the relations with TOTAL as “strategic and economically important.” He has also applauded the field development activities the company is carrying out in Block 10.
Christophe Descat, Total Site Manager, assessed the visit as “successful” and added that “we were honored in Kharir Field to receive His Excellency the Vice President and the senior delegation he was accompanied with. The Vice President has admirably praised TEP Yemen’s serious actions towards significant reduction of gas flaring through the supply of gas to PEC Power Plant on Block 10 in order to meet the power needs of surrounding communities.”

The delegation included the Deputy Prime Minister for Internal Affairs, Minister of Oil and Minerals, Minister of Justice, Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, Minister of Endowments and Islamic Guidance, Minister of Public Health and Population, and Minister of Public Works and Roads. |
